Students learned that art doesn’t have to look realistic to be good. We talked about Pablo Picasso and Paul Klee. Both artists created abstract portraits which distort, exaggerate, or show things from more than one viewpoint. Students skillfully cut and glued paper shapes to create these faces. Using centers in the room allows each student artist to create art that is meaningful to them. Here are some examples of kid creations that represent toys, holidays, movies and games that are important in the life of the student artist. |
